TEACHING LIFE SKILLS THROUGH SPORTS

Emotional Benefit

Physical activity has been shown to stimulate chemicals in the brain that make you feel better. Thus, playing sports regularly will improve a child's overall emotional well-being.

Research shows there's a link between playing sports and self-esteem in children. The  support of the team, a kind word from a coach, or achieving their personal best will all help a child to feel better about themselves. ï»¿(World Health Organization)

Tenacity

The ability to fail and learn from a  perceived setback and move forward is a vital life skill.  Learning that a perceived failure is not the end, but part of the learning experience of life has far-reaching implications, affecting our self-esteem, resilience, and mental agility.  These skills are vital for success as we grow into adults and go through life's setbacks and challenges.

Discipline
Discipline is the essential foundation for any sport because it builds character by helping athletes focus and attain the ability to work towards achieving goals.  Discipline is doing that which needs to be done regardless of emotions. Beyond sports, discipline is essential to succeed in other areas of life.
